Albert Escola

Albert studied architecture at the technical University of Spain and moved on to work on amazing projects and collaborations within architecture, urbanism and interior design. In 2013, Albert established residence in Tel Aviv where he continued his practice in both locations while joining hands with Tom Shaked and establishing his own office - esai. We, at NOOR, love the synergy between Albert’s worldly knowledge and luxury mixed with our local Israeli cultures and traditions – a mix of West and East, just like us.

1. How would you describe Albert in one hashtag?  #Passionate
2. What is the one thing people don’t know about you?  Before I decided to be an Architect, I wanted to be an Astronaut. Until today I’m still obsessed with NASA
3. How does your morning ritual look like?  I always wake up 3 hours before I start working. The first 3 hours of every morning are for me and my family. I’m the one who prepares the breakfast. Then we eat all together. After I go to the gym. In the mornings I like to take my time
4. What time of day do you prefer?  Very early in the morning or late in the evening
5. What country do your dream of visiting?  Japan
6. What is the biggest surprise you have received?  On a personal level when Asi asked me to marry him. I always thought I would be the one to propose to him. On a professional level when I got to design the Barça Museum in Barcelona
7. Who is your style icon?  Tom Ford
8. What are the three things you cannot live without?  Phone, coffee and my bicycle
9. What is your favorite smell?  Vetiver and patchouli
10. What is your favorite design element in your home?  The candle of Tom Dixon
11. Who would you dream of going to dinner with?  Frank Gehry
12. What is your favorite building or structure in the world?  Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris
13. What is your drink of choice?  Red Wine from Ribera del Duero, Spain
14. What superpower would you choose?  Since I have a lot of imagination, I would love to be able to build in one split of a second the houses that I imagine

19. What project are you most proud of?  I have recently finished the Cosentino Showroom in Herzliya Pituach. A beautiful space of 500 sqm with a big library of materials where designers and architects can do beautiful moodboards for upcoming projects
20. What or who inspires you?  Nature inspires me, the need of reconnecting with our surroundings
21. What NOOR gift would you pick?  The candles of Tom Dixon are an amazing gift. Because of the special smell, they last for very long and the marble cover on top is amazing! I want to collect all of them!
